UMass Alerts allows members of a campus community to receive alerts from the emergency management office or other authorized mass notification stakeholders such as campus police, facilities management, the chancellor’s office, etc. This app allows users to receive relevant alerts based on their changing real-time context in a reliable manner.
UMass Alerts securely protects sensitive user information and only permits authorized campus personnel to issue notifications. The app also allows users to “say something if you see something” to rapidly report suspicious activity to campus safety personnel via text, pictures, or video.
Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
